Hoisted by their own pedophile

Donald Trump is a bomb-thrower.

From the moment he rode down a golden escalator to tell the country about an entirely imagined flood of rapists spilling across the U.S.-Mexico border, Trump has been lighting fuses, tossing out incendiary nonsense and walking away.

His trademark “weave” is less a rhetorical technique than an immediate disavowal of whatever he just said, in service of whatever new thing crossed his mind. His tough talk about stolen elections, done entirely to save face in the wake of the most public defeat of his life, led directly to the storming of the U.S. Capitol. He was able to wash his hands of the whole thing almost as soon as the photogenic gallows were rolled away.

Trump made yet another explosive promise on the campaign trail in 2024. Craving the approval of his disillusioned crank base, he vowed to release the FBI’s case files concerning convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. That the files would likely contain many allusions to Epstein’s longtime associate, President Donald Trump, didn’t seem to bother him. He knew how the game worked by now. He’d be long gone when the idea blew up in someone else’s face.

Trump’s fanatics seemed to believe that a man engaged in a massive criminal undertaking with the richest and most powerful people on Earth would keep an easy-to-read ledger of all of his co-conspirators: the so-called “Epstein list.” On Monday, Trump made his second attempt to appease the tin-foil hat crowd.

Of course, no such list exists. And, if it did, Trump would never be the one to release it. That didn’t stop the FBI’s memo finding zero evidence of a register and even less of funny business in Epstein’s death from landing like a bunker-buster among the MAGA movement’s Morlocks.

Alex Jones, Laura Loomer and Elon Musk all stepped outside of their roles as erstwhile Trump advisers to call for the heads of everyone involved. “The American people and MAGA base will not tolerate being lied to,” Loomer wrote on X. Yesterday, she might even have believed it.

Trump surely doesn’t care. He’s already lighting tomorrow’s stick of dynamite. The wreckage? That’s Karoline Leavitt’s problem.

What do you think? Will any of this destruction ever stick to Donald Trump? Is there any betrayal that MAGA true believers won’t stomach? Sound off in the comments.
